What is This?

Question
Hi.

What is the difference between

Shirts, tees, blouses, cardigans, tunics, and sweaters??

I've never understood what the differences are.

Thanks!

Answer
Hi  there,
I love questions like this.
First of all, lets start with the shirt
A shirt is a piece of clothing worn on the upper part of the body.  A shirt will have a collar and it will have buttons down the front as closure. A shirt can be short or long sleeved.

A blouse is the feminine form of a shirt. It often has no collar or it can have  a  pseudocollar  made from lace.

A  t-shirt is a form  of clothing that that looks like a T when it is lain flat. It is made of cotton or cotton mix jersey.

A tunic is a blouse that hangs outside the skirt or pants, usually well below the hips.

A sweater is made from yarn, used  during cool  or chill weather. It  can look like a long sleeve t-shirt, but it is thicker and warmer. Sometimes cardigans  are called  sweaters.

A cardigan is  also made from yarn and used during cool or chilly weather. It has buttons or zipper  in the  front. Also called a sweater.

Let me know what  you think!
